REPLICA

SONG FACTS

#1 - The song is about misunderstanding

The song is about a terrible misunderstanding between lovers. Inspired by a real life story. If you have difficulties figuring out which perspective the song is from, it is intentional.

#2 - The Alanis Morissette verse

"It wasn't my writing" is a line from the hidden track "Your house" on Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little pill. Maybe the line "That's not my writing" in Replica is inspired by it, but it is unintentional.

#3 - Composition simpled down

Replica is an extract of a more complex composition which Remi deems not suited for publishing. "Even though I solely make music for myself, I have to consider the listener, when picking out songs and publishing them. And some pieces I keep to myself".

#4 - The song almost didn't make it

The song was recorded in a longer version, but was cut even after the mix was finished. "We cut around 30 seconds of the song after the mix, which is a first time and hopefully a last time for Mr. Conroy", Remi says.

#5 - The video recorded at Remi's home

The video for Replica is the only video so far to have Remi's face in it. The video was thought out and filmed in a couple of hours by bassist Kim as a DIY (do it yourself) experiment. After having edited the video, Remi considered it for weeks before publishing it.

"REPLICA" LYRICS

VERSE 1

That's not my writing

That's not my writing

You see, it's a replica

CHORUS

Where did you stay?
Where did you sleep?
And who was by your side?

I won't this go away
We were stronger
than ever
That is quite a while

VERSE 2

That's not my writing

That's not my writing

You see, it's a replica

CHORUS

Where did you stay?
Where did you sleep?
And who was by your side?

I won't this go away
We were stronger
than ever
That is quite a while
