A song by Faroese-Danish pop artist Mr. Conroy
Written & Produced by Remi Thomsen
Recorded by Kristian Dalsgaard at Ark Recording Studio
Vocals recorded by Jens V. Jakobsen at Imert Basement Studios
Track no. 3 from the album "Left behind"
Released on 9 November 2023
#1 - Written on a sad background
"Can't take anymore" were the words (in Faroese), that dear friend and fellow musician Rasmus Rasmussen had written on his chest before leaving this world.
#2 - Different perspectives in verses and chorus
In the lyrics, the verses (eg. "Can't take anymore" and "I'll settle every score") are from Rasmus' perspective and the chorus (if lonliness ever finds you etc.) is from Remi's perspective.
#3 - First song finished for the "Left behind" album
The song was the first song finished for the album and was considered as both opening track and as a single.
#4 - Only song to feature a twelve string guitar
The main riff of the song is played on an acustic twelvestring guitar as the only Mr. Conroy song so far.
VERSE 1
I can't take anymore
I can't take anymore
In this circumstance, I find myself
I can't find a way out
VERSE 2
I'll settle every score
I'll settle every score
If we took the chance to rearrange
You would find no other way
CHORUS
So if loneliness ever finds you
and you try to make it out alive
And if hopelessness ever tries you
You just run away for a while
you just run way into the night
VERSE 3
Remember what it's for
Remember what it's for
It for all the ones you love and those
who came by when you’re down
VERSE 4
I won't lie anymore
I won't lie anymore
To myself everyone around me
need to make it right
CHORUS
So if loneliness ever finds you
and you try to make it out alive
And if hopelessness ever tries you
You just run away for a while
you just run way into the night
